1. Three ways an app gets your spending
- You type it in. It works for any payment, but you do it every time.
- It reads your slips. Most transfers and QR payments in Thailand give you a slip. An app that reads it fills in the amount, the date and who got paid.
- It links to your bank. Transactions come in by themselves, but you connect the app to your bank account.
Most apps mix these. Cash always needs typing.

Slip Tracker
Made for Thai transfer slips, on iPhone. It reads the words and the QR code on each slip, suggests a category, and keeps your transactions on your iPhone, encrypted. There is no account and no bank login. There are no budgets. A monthly spending guide shows if you are on track instead. Free to start. Android is coming soon.
MeowJot (เหมียวจด)
From KASIKORN X, on iPhone and Android. It reads the slips your bank apps save. It says it works with up to 20 bank and wallet apps. You sign in with your phone number. Paid plans add automatic categories, budgets and credit card statements.

Money Lover
From Finsify, on iPhone and Android. You type in your spending, set budgets and bill reminders, and use more than one currency. Its paid Linked Wallets service links a bank account, including banks in Thailand. You sign in with an account, and it syncs your devices. Premium removes ads.
Money Manager
From Realbyte, on iPhone and Android. You type in each payment, set budgets, and keep track of several accounts, like cash and cards. No sign-in needed. You can back up to iCloud or by email.
Spendee
From Cleevio, on iPhone, Android and the web. You type in spending or scan a receipt, set budgets, and share wallets with other people. It can link some banks and e-wallets. You need an account.
4. Which one fits you
- You pay mostly by transfer or QR: an app that reads slips saves the most typing, like Slip Tracker or MeowJot.
- You want your bank to fill it in: Money Lover's paid Linked Wallets, or Spendee if it supports your bank.
- You want budgets: Money Lover, Money Manager, Spendee, or MeowJot's paid plans.
- You would rather not sign in: Slip Tracker or Money Manager.
- You use Android: MeowJot, Money Lover, Money Manager or Spendee. Slip Tracker for Android is coming soon.
5. Moving to Slip Tracker
Slip Tracker can bring in transactions you exported from four of these apps. Open Settings, then tap Move from another app.
- MeowJot: a CSV file. MeowJot lists CSV export under MeowGold.
- Money Lover: a CSV file.
- Money Manager: an Excel file.
- Spendee: a CSV file of one wallet.
You see what will be added before anything changes, and transactions you already added are skipped.
6. Common questions
Which expense app should I use in Thailand?
It depends on how you pay. If most of your spending is transfers and QR payments, an app that reads slips saves the most typing. If you want budgets or more than one currency, Money Lover, Money Manager or Spendee may suit you better.
Is there a free expense tracker app?
All five apps here are free to start, and each has paid extras. Slip Tracker's free plan gives you 100 scans in your first 30 days, then 50 each month, and keeps every transaction.
Which apps read Thai bank slips?
Slip Tracker and MeowJot are made to read Thai transfer slips. Slip Tracker reads slips you pick from Photos. MeowJot reads the slips your bank apps save.

Do I have to link my bank account?
No. Slip Tracker and MeowJot read slips instead. Money Lover and Spendee offer bank links as an option.
Does Slip Tracker work on Android?
Not yet. Slip Tracker is on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. Android is coming soon.
